Let's Meet the Owner ~ Lila

" My name is Lila, and I’m a college student running my Etsy shop in my spare time. I’ve always loved to draw and create crafts, and I’ve dreamed of sharing my creations with others for many years. When I was younger, I used to have a pretend store I called Fairymakers, where I “sold” my crafts to family members for play money. Today, that pretend store has become the real Etsy shop FairyMadeCrafts! I mostly design and create greeting cards. I started making them because I love the idea of giving someone a unique card rather than something that was mass-produced.  I also love that cards allow me to create for so many different occasions and styles - they provide me with a miniature canvas to do pretty much anything I’m in the mood for! My other favorite things to make are masks.  I’ve designed masks for several theater productions and absolutely loved it! They are very time-consuming and expensive to make, however, so I plan to branch out into selling them at my shop gradually. Right now I have one of my favorite designs I’ve ever made listed, a golden lion mask.  I hope to continue to list more if there is interest! "

"HeartFeltWorld is a shop that sells a range of needle-felted items. Needle-felting is a process where felt fibres are stabbed with barbed needles to tangle and compact them into a solid shape. It is a process that takes a certain amount of time and endurance. All of the items in the shop are carefully hand-made by Scarygothgirl. The shop may occasionally feature non-felted crafts, as Scarygothgirl is an avid crafter who enjoys experimenting in many different fields."

"I’ve been crafting all my life, but I didn’t discover needle-felting until about a year and a half ago, when I randomly came across some felted items online and thought they looked interesting. Rather than look up any tutorials on how to do needle-felting, I just bought myself some supplies and started experimenting. The first thing I managed to create was a needle-felted panda, which I gave to a friend. I continued creating things and giving them to people, until I the point where I no longer knew anyone who I hadn’t given a needle-felted creature to. I didn’t want to stop felting, so I decided to open up and online shop and sell my creations to the world."
